Something NEW for Breakfast at Rachel’s Café in South Commons

new breakfast itemsWhile we all have our favorite breakfast items that we crave throughout the year, it is always a good idea to try a new dish – just in case it might become your new obsession. At Rachel’s Café in South Commons, we take pride in being able to create a wide menu that includes craveable real-food items that our customers love. It not only keeps them coming back for more, but it has helped us to establish a solid reputation in Rhode Island for quality ingredients, regional favorites, and unique tastes. As we prepare to ring in the New Year, our team has “done it again” and developed two brand new items for our menu that has caused our regular customers to rave!

Steak for Breakfast?

You might have heard of steak and eggs, a popular all-American breakfast dish, but have you ever had a breakfast steak sandwich? Our new Enorme Steak Breakfast Sandwich is made with a grilled New York-style bagel and features a six-ounce seasoned steak topped with caramelized onions, two scrambled eggs, American cheese, and our house-made aioli for an extra punch of flavor. As you can probably imagine, it was a winner from day one and makes for a hearty breakfast, brunch, or lunch, any day of the week. Grab one on your way to work, stop in and dine with friends on the weekend, or order for curbside pickup and enjoy one at the office. The combination of flavors, textures, and proteins will give you all of the energy you need to get through your day.

In addition to this delectable breakfast sandwich, we also offer a variety of other handheld menu items that you can enjoy in the morning or afternoon. Our classic Egg Sandwich features a toasted English Muffin, a fried egg, American cheese, and you can add-on your choice of bacon, ham, sausage or Portuguese linguica. The Gansett Sandwich is similar, but is made with a grilled English muffin, bacon, avocado, spinach, and American cheese. Breakfast burritos are another popular item that you can eat on the go or enjoy in our dining room. Ours are hearty and are made with three fresh scrambled eggs, peppers, onions, and cheddar cheese, with your choice of ham, sausage or bacon – served with home fries and a side of salsa.

Maple & Bacon – Ooh La La!

Our second new menu item is the descriptively named Maple Bacon French Toast Sandwich. Your taste buds will love you from the moment you take your first bite. This seasonally appropriate sandwich features two pieces of golden Texas-style French toast with two eggs any style, with maple-glazed bacon and American cheese. It is served with your choice of home fries or a fresh fruit cup. Maple is a very New England taste, especially this time of year. We have a few other offerings that include local maple syrup that our customers really enjoy – not to mention all of our pancakes and waffles!

One example is our Maple Bacon Croissant, which features a fried egg, bacon, cheddar cheese, and our famous maple-glazed bacon, served up on a large grilled, flaky and buttery croissant. It comes with a fresh fruit cup. Our Chicken & Waffle Sliders also provide that maple-and-bacon flavor. The sliders are made with our thick Belgian waffles, fried chicken, and bacon. It is served with home fries and can be dipped in our popular maple syrup. Our Maple Walnut French Toast is more of a traditional French toast that can be enjoyed for breakfast, brunch, or lunch.

New Hours at Rachel’s Café

We are now open Monday and Tuesday, closed on Wednesday, and Open Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We are open 7am to 3pm every day, except for Sunday, when we are open from 7am to 2pm. You can dine indoors in our South Commons café or enjoy our outdoor patio dining – weather permitting.
